What's New

09/14/2010 -- Still coming in 2011 ...

It has been a very long time since this site was updated. This latest update is something of a 'steady as she goes'.

Some of our sites over the years had some kind of dynamic content. This has empirically turned out to be a poor choice. As technology changed and more complex software had security and/or dependancy issues, the sites relying upon facilities for dynamic content became unmaintainable. Around the time that HushWebs had a face-lift in 2002 or so it had become clear that we could only rely upon relatively 'vanilla' sites.

Since that time, we have built sites using variants of our own PHP code. The code generates the site on the fly using a very plain model and code, content and skins are all separate.

This leads to rather dowdy sites that don't see updates that often, especially to their look and feel. However, they continue to operate through numerous browser changes, operating system changes, shifts to platforms such as cell phones, changes in search engine indexing, etc (things like cell phone browsers were not envisioned in 2002, but our HushWebs site works fine in them).

In the past few years our plans have been impacted by a sluggish economy. The year 2009 was very slow for both us and our clients. This appears to be improving. During the spring of 2010 we saw a slight improvement in activity. Starting in the Fall, many of our clients have come looking to us for various solutions.

We are still committed to moving forward with the creation of dealerships across North America.

Although it has been very challenging to finish development of products, significant progress has been made. Choices made nearly ten years ago appear to have been prophetic.

It has been a year and a day since the last posting and that was just a quick link as a favor for a friend.

However, many things have been happening over the past couple of years.

We are now poised for expansion. You can read about it here:

09/10/2003 -- Our site has moved to a new server and we have updated the code base to our beta site development code. We are still busy re-building all of our sites on a new code base. Trantor has been updated to an intermediate version and will likely stay with this version until all other sites are complete. Please let us know if you have any problems.

11/29/2001 -- Trantor's new web is finally ready. It's pretty minimal, but it does the job by linking to our many larger sites.

Plug: This is a small business site from our own HushServer division. You can get one just like this -- a high reliability site starting at only $249 from HushServer and it includes everything you need to go online and stay there. Our high availability sites have not experienced an unscheduled outage in their entire three years of operation -- 100% scheduled uptime. Even including scheduled downtime, we have experienced an uptime percentage better than 99.99%.  If you are willing to give up that extra 1% of uptime, you can get the same site for much less. Go to the HushServer site for current pricing and features. This is the best deal in websites on the internet.

Note that although the content is the same or similar, this is a new site. If you don't find something here that you know from the old site, please let us know by using the Contact Form.
